Play Aid's Player CARE Coach Educator Course | Psychological First Aid

One in five of us is struggling with our mental health. That's a player on both sides in a typical League of Legends scrim. Would you know how to support a teammate if they reached out to you to say they were struggling? If not, you've come to the right place!

We're calling on all esports clubs, guilds and societies to train a Player CARE Coach Educator. We know from years of research that young men in particular are less likely to ask for help, so with your help, we want to take the support to them. Through training team captains in our Player CARE Coach programme, you'll have someone on each team who is capable of spotting the signs of mental ill health, can safely research out to provide initial support, and knows what to do in an emergency situation.

Through Movember's funding, we are able to provide this potentially life saving training for free. The programmes have been developed by qualified psychologists with over 300+ peer reviewed papers and many years of practitioner experience.

During Play Aid's online Player CARE Coach Educator training, you will be introduced to what psychological first aid is (and isn't) and trained in how to better support your friends and team mates during times of psychological distress. You'll also be provided with additional materials to enhance your mental health literacy, facilitate training sessions with others, and receive a 1-to-1 tutorial with our expert team. The training typically costs £450 and is accredited at level four. If you are based in the UK, Ireland or Australia, thanks to the generous support from Movember, your fees are waived.
